The perils of the “code reader”
These days it’s very easy to over-investigate a Check Engine light on your vehicle. Many customers come in stating they went to their local parts store, had their codes read and installed the part suggested by the clerk only to still have a light on and/or a symptom present. Proper diagnosis by a qualified technician is more important than ever these days due to the complexities of modern vehicles. There can be multiple causes for the same DTC, or code, and hundreds of codes in any one vehicle. Sometimes the thought of paying a diagnostic fee seems expensive but replacing a good part or parts can be just as expensive yet leave one with a still-troubled vehicle and wasted time. Give us a call if your check engine light is on in your car and set up an appointment to have it diagnosed properly!
